CBD Dosing

How much should I take? What's the best dosage for me?

The FDA has not created a Recommended Daily Intake for CBD, which means CBD doesn't have an official serving size.

In general, there is no one-size-fits-all answer but let's see if we can clear up some confusion.

Start Small

Start with a low strength (250 mg vs 500 mg) especially if you have little or no experience with CBD.

Take a few small doses over the course of a few days rather than one big dose.

Use the same dose and concentration for several days. Observe the effects and if necessary adjust the ratio or amount.

Don’t overdo it.

“Less is more” is most often the case with CBD tinctures. The least amount of CBD you can take to feel relief from your symptoms the better.

CBD has no known adverse side effects at any dose. But an excessive amount of CBD could be less effective therapeutically than a moderate dose.

Estimate your dosage based on your weight

As a general rule with any substance being taken for supplemental purposes, it’s always a good idea to check with your doctor or medical professional first.

That being said, none of the following information should be taken as medical advice.

Above is a table of dosage suggestions based on your weight and the severity of your ailment (pain level). Use these as suggestions as a starting point and adjust your dosage up or down accordingly.

Measuring TInctures/Oils

Using a CBD tincture is one of the easiest ways to consume CBD. Simply fill the dropper, administer the oil under your tongue, then hold it there for 30 to 90 seconds before swallowing.

Since a dropper is the method we use to administer a tincture, you need to find out how much CBD is in a single dropper. Once you know this, you can gauge how much CBD you’re taking.

A standard dropper holds approx 1 ML of liquid. If you know how many milliliters are in a CBD tincture, you can use this simple formula to determine how much CBD is in its dropper:

[Total CBD in Bottle] ÷ [Number of Milliliters in Bottle] =

MGs of CBD in a Dropper

For example, if you have a 30ml CBD tincture that has 1500MG of CBD:

1500 ÷ 30 = 50MG of CBD per dropper
